I don’t use mascara on my lower lashes either. It just accentuates the dark circles and bags under my eyes, not a good look! I use a dark eye liner and just brush the side of the pencil over my lower lashes. It gives me just enough color that I don’t look like I forgot the mascara (I’m blonde with very light, almost invisible, lower lashes).

You and I are sooooo much alike. I use powdered mineral foundation and I only apply mascara to the uppers. I have used moisturizer since I was in my twenties. Recently I have begun to use a cleanser in the shower, wet my face, slather on cleanser, wipe with wet cloth, and done. If it is easy I will do it consistently. Thank goodness I don’t have anyone to see my underarms.
