Oh my gosh you are so funny : ) I used to take Kaish like that to things when he was a baby. Now when I don't want to do something I just say, go look at your baby book! Look at all the fun we had when you were a teeny, tiny baby : ) He doesn't respond well to that for some reason!

If it makes you feel any better, I dragged Theo to sit for hours so we could ensure a great fireworks viewing spot, and as you can tell from my pictures, we did. However, Theo was so terrified of them that from the moment they started until the moment they ended he just kept saying with tears almost ready to spill from his eyes, "Se acabo? Se acabo?" Like, "Will they finish now? How about now?" I felt so horrible that I had done this only so he could experience fireworks and all he was experiencing was sheer terror!

~raises hand~I am one too than! I mean, I sat at home in my cool A/C and watched it on TV. I honestly lost my "picnic/beer/lakeside bonfire" when I smelled like smoke and Fireworks became outlawed…Due to the fire hazarard and all…*sigh*Just not the sameWe still made smores…just over an electric stove! LOL

I am popping over from Single Mama in NYC's blog. And I can sympathize with the party pooper syndrome. Not because it's me, specifically, but my husband. He tends to downplay lots of things…and I think it's because of his childhood, etc etc. I have realized through him that sometimes it's hard to translate joy into each and every activity if you don't somehow FIND the joy or CREATE the joy. 🙂 It's definitely a learned trait, in my opinion. I have to fight to ensure I don't peeter out during activities because if I do…the kids are SCREWED. The great thing about kids is that they easily forget and forgive, and you'll have another chance to make up for it. Happy Monday!

I'm totally lame to. My family was never huge into celebrations and unfortuantley I'm passing that torch onto my kids. But they're kids keep putting it out, which is awesome. Here's to having a good time every other day. And anyone who brings home a weirdo burt reynolds look alike with their husband is not lame!

I read there was over 400 things to do in SF on the 4th. You should have gotten out. Oh well there is always the rest of the summer to make up for it!

We were invited to a party at the last minute and THEY had fireworks. Otherwise, we would've lamed out, too. And my girls are TOTALLY old enough to 'get it'.Love that you defended your use of 'lame'.
