As a family of four, there are times when we all want pizza, but we can’t all agree on the toppings. For those times there is Déjà Vu Pizza in San Francisco’s Mission District.
What makes this place particularly friendly to people who can’t agree on pizza toppings is that they make each individual slice to order. That means they take a slice of uncooked dough, form it into a triangle, put whatever toppings you want on it and then bake it up just for you.
Unlike other pizza places where you walk up and your choices are limited to whatever premade pies are available, at this place you can put together whatever kind of nonsense you want. Oh, and the slices are BIG. So big that one slice is cut into two.
It’s a hole-in-the-wall kind of place and you definitely don’t go for the decor. You go for that made-to-order, hot-out-of-the-oven, filling slice of exactly the kind of pizza you want.
Anygüeys, just thought I would share in case you’re ever in the neighborhood.
