DIY: Cupcake Christmas Tree Ornaments

Cupcake Christmas tree ornaments

My girls have a thing for cupcakes, so I thought it would be fun to make some DIY cupcake Christmas tree ornaments using caulk as frosting. We’re all pretty enamored of the results and want to share how easy it is for you to make some yourself.

Check it out!

Supplies:

  • Round Christmas ornaments
  • Caulk (I used fast dry acrylic latex caulk plus silicone in white)
  • Caulk gun
  • Cupcake liners
  • Hot glue gun with glue, of course
  • Glitter
  • Glitter glue (optional)
How to make cupcake ornaments

Directions:

Use the hot glue gun to attach cupcake liners to your Christmas ornaments with the little loop for hanging on top (as pictured).

Once the cupcake liners are attached to the ornaments, frost your cupcakes using caulk and a caulk gun. You can cut the tip of the caulk dispenser at an angle to help you frost more easily.

While the caulk is still wet, sprinkle it with glitter. I made the hanging part of the ornament all red on top with red glitter glue so that it would resemble a cherry.

Once the caulk is fully dry, your Christmas cupcake ornaments are ready to hang or gift.

These cupcake Christmas tree ornaments have become family favorites. We look forward to seeing them year after year.
