Here I am writing a how to make a duct tape wreath post even though I am not really a wreath-lovin’ kind of person because they are usually too froufrou for me. Perhaps that’s why the only wreaths I’ve ever really hung in my home are the ones I’ve made for myself.

This wreath came about because I found a foam wreath form for $1 and bunches of faux roses at one of those stores that charge $1 for everything and I thought I might be able to come up with a less than froufrou floral wreath for my home.
I could have easily hot glued red roses all around the wreath and been done with it, but I wanted something that was a little more “me” and if there is anything that I know about me is that I love the combination of black, white and red. Then it came to me! Duct tape. Get some black and white duct tape and combine it with the red roses. I love the results and it was one of the quickest DIY projects I’ve ever made.
Check out the instructions below to make your own.
Duct Tape Wreath
Supplies:
- Foam floral wreath form (the one I used was a little over 9” in diameter)
- A few bunches of fabric flowers (I used two bunches of roses with six roses on each bunch)
- Duct tape of your choice (amount needed depends on size of your wreath form, I used one entire roll)
- Glue gun with glue sticks

Directions:
Wrap duct tape around the wreath from front to back making sure to overlap on each pass. Right about the time you are halfway through feel free to quietly mutter some curse words to yourself and wonder why no one has come up with duct tape that is voice operated. I’m kidding, it’s really not that hard or tedious. Don’t worry about being perfect, just get ‘er done and consider the imperfections part of the finished piece.
Once you are done wrapping your entire foam wreath foam in duct tape, fire up the glue gun!
Remove the fabric flowers from the stems and use your hot glue gun (with glue of course) to attach the flowers wherever you like on the the wreath. I put them all in a bunch in one area, you do whatever it is you like.
That’s it, you’re done!
