By now, you probably know that your diet should resemble a rainbow.
The color in your diet should come from plants, not food coloring or additives. So no, a bag of brightly-colored candy orbs, although sweet and delicious, does not count as you eating your colors. Colorful fruits and vegetables are full of phytonutrients which are beneficial to your health. Phytonutrients can:
- Repair damage to cells.
- Build our immune systems.
- Act as antioxidants.
There are 5 photonutrient groups:
- Blue-Purple
- Red-Pink
- Orange/Yellow
- Dark Green
- Brown-White
You should aim for about 2 servings a day from each of the 5 categories.
10 servings a day! There is no way I’m getting that many servings. And furthermore, I am too tired to try. I have 2 kids: one is 3 and the other is going on 11 months, I eat what I can when I can. Sometimes I have fruits and vegetables on hand, sometimes there is bread and chocolate.
Clearly, I need help.
Thanks to the wonders of blogging, I have been given the opportunity to try Amway’s Nutrilite Tablets and Amway’s Nutrilite 2GO.
I’ve been taking 2 Nutrilite Tablets a day, which offer the equivalent of about 10 servings of photonutrients with no artificial colors, flavors, or preservatives. The tablets have been easy to add to my daily routine. I take them in the morning with breakfast along with my usual vitamin.
Later in the day, I’ve been adding 1 Nutrilite 2GO Twist Tube to a tall glass of water. I like that it is in liquid form because it makes it easy to mix. Both my husband and I think it tastes like a tropical fruit punch, mango-citrus to be exact, and it provides the antioxidant equivalent of two servings of fruits and vegetables. The tubes are easy to stick in my purse or diaper bag and add to a bottle of water when I’m out and about.
I’ve been using the products for a few days and it has been a simple addition. I like knowing that I’m covering my phytonutrient needs. Ideally, I would be able to get everything I need by eating a balanced diet, but it’s nice to know I have insurance.
You can visit Amway’s Nutrilite nutrition website for more information. If you’d like a chance to try the Nutrilite Tablets and Nutrilite 2Go Twist Tubes for free I’m giving away one of each to one lucky winner. All you have to do to enter is follow the instructions on the widget below. Good luck and don’t forget to EAT YOUR COLORS!
