Sometimes I crack myself up. A friend on FaceBook complained that she got sexually harassed by a guy on there, I responded…
Last week I go to the library with my two kids for storytime and as I’m settling in and the librarian starts addressing the kids I hear music playing and I’m thinking…
WTF?! Who’s playing music at the library? Seriously person, it’s the library! At least put on some headphones. I am so going to give you the stink eye when I find out who you are. You’re playing “Maneater” by Hall and Oates. Well, at least you are playing something I like. Still it’s really rude, the librarian is trying to conduct a class and she seems unfazed, but that doesn’t stop it from being rude. Hmmm…it seems to be coming from my right side…from the table right next to me…from the purse on the table right next to me…oh crap! It’s coming from my purse. Crap, it’s coming from my iPhone. OMG, I can’t make it stop!!! How do I make it stop? I’m just going to lower the volume all the way down… Okay, it’s gone. It wasn’t so bad. I don’t think anyone even heard it… Oh-oh here she comes, watch out boy she’ll chew you up…it is a catchy tune.
And now your Friday Fortune Cookie
(don’t forget to add “in bed” at the end, if you are so inclined):
Never be afraid to laugh at yourself.

is that a ringtone you use? Funny story. I just heard on the news the other day that a big concert in New York was stopped because of someone’s cellphone going off. The conductor stops and turns to the section with the offender and demands the phone be silenced before the concert can resume. I think the offender was so embarrassed he couldn’t turn it off quickly. We all need to remember the OFF mode.

No, it’s not my ringtone. I had “silenced” the phone, but you can use the phone as an iPod for music. Somehow in my purse it had gotten turned on to play The Best of Hall and Oates.

heehee.. thanks for the giggles.
Now I’m going to be singing Maneater all night 😉

The fortune cookie in itself is quite provocative looking now that you mentioned “in bed”. Sorry…my mind is in the ‘gutter’ and it’s only coming up on 5 a.m.!!! Good lord!
Love the congress/twitter connection you got going.

I’ve noticed that libraries aren’t the quiet places they used to be….even the librarians talk in loud voices these days, so I bet you got a pass on this one, especially with a bunch of kids at storytime.
Laurie Matherne says
Library libertine! How awful! And funny, too.

Oh, man, I have been in bible study and CHURCH when my phone goes off!!! Some folks don’t think Bon Jovi is for those scenarios???
You do crack me up, I love that reply!!!
Tami Miller says
I like Hall & Oates too. Darryl Hall went to high school with my mother. She always comments how they were in math class together. 🙂 It was funny it was your Iphone that was playing. I’m sure it has happened to many of us!
Have a great weekend!

LOL!! I’ve done something similar…yelling at my kids to turn on their games or phones until they told me, “Um, it’s your phone, mom!” Ooops!

The only time you can’t reach the volume button on your phone is in the middle of a meeting… or in your case, in a library. HA! Sooooo something I would do.
Joanna Jenkins says
Hall and Oats is the first live concert I ever went to 🙂
