It has been awhile since I’ve brought up my ongoing feud with Word Verification. To be honest, she’s been pretty mild lately. Basically, I type in the nonsensical word she gives me and go on my way. I thought perhaps we had reached a truce, agreed to dislike each other, but be civilized. Well, I was wrong. She was just waiting for me to get complacent so she could insult me again. She is back to name calling and I am not having it. She thinks that she can call me names and that I will just type them back as a sort of acknowledgement that I am what she is calling me. I’ve had it with her! She called me a downer.
I was not about to agree with her, so I told her that she’s the downer. It’s on Word Verification! I will fight you every step of the way, you name calling, power hungry gatekeeper!
Speaking of being a downer…okay, maybe I have been a little. A few months ago, I was feeling so positive and like nothing could stop me and then I just let that feeling slip away and started focusing on the negative. Time to refocus…I’m good enough, I’m smart enough, and gosh darn it people like me (this is the part where you tell me you like me).
I’m giving away 3 pairs Dr. Scholl’s Fast Flats and one pair of custom orthotics. If you are interested click on over. This is what the Fast Flats look like…
And now your Friday Fortune Cookie (don’t forget to add “in bed” at the end, if you are so inclined):
An valuable person will offer you support.

And here I thought that Word Verification was referencing the fact that you advertise on your blog. You’re not “a downer” you’re simply an “ad owner.” Feel better now? Think positive.. we DO like you!

See? Word Verification is clever. She put me to the outlook test and apparently I did prove that I am a downer because I did not see ad owner.

Every now and then I get something comical on the WV. This one is nice. I mean…mean.
Jeanie says
I am so in your corner on this one….Word Verification needs to go down!

I HATE captchas! They are reDONK! And when I see one on someone’s blog I’m like, “Oh, honey…really? You think this is necessary?”
Hope you get to be feeling more spunky. Much love!

The only time WV is any fun at all is when it offers a goofy word. I think it employs monkeys on keyboards. Just think it didn’t even exist 10 years ago. It will be one of the first systems taken down by the robots in upcoming revolution.
Hey on a tech note – you’re not using DISQUS? I just noticed it went down today.

If I tell you I like you will you hold it against me? 🙂
UnknownMami says
Nope, totally counts in your favor. Plus I like you too.

Lately I’ve been thinking that Blogger isn’t going to let me leave a comment if I don’t create a Blogger blog. It’s been awful and I hate word verification with a passion. Love Askimet on WordPress. Thus far, nothings gotten through and it’s so easy on the commentor. For awhile Discus would remember me, other times it forgets. No one I visit has yet said why they’ve adopted it. I am curious.
On another note, Unknownmami you ARE wonderful.
unknownmami says
I started using Disqus when I was on Blogger because I hated the Blogger commenting system so much. When I switched to WordPress I kept it because I can reply to comments from my email and it posts the reply on the thread and also sends the reply via email.

The first thing I saw was “ad owner” too. I really don’t like World Verification… And then, when people put that up there and then they still have to approve the comment… Seem like a downer to me! =)
Mariliz says
I too a terribly dislike having to type those words in before leaving a message. Regretfully, I stopped leaving comments on blogs that use it.

Maybe that was WV’s gentle reminder that you should accentuate the positive? A little tough love there?

Support in bed yeah!! I really dislike the word verification witch too. You should join the challenge. Not one negative thought or word for a week…fake it til ya make it! I’m on my 4th week of trying…so help me I will make it!

The veri-word thing makes me smile. Some of them are so stupid, aren’t they?? I really love your “gosh darnit” quote!!! I like you!! I enjoy your fragments and your comments!

Have you seen The Help? The quote I like in that movie is “You is good. You is kind. You is important.”
unknownmami says
No, I haven’t seen it or read the book yet. But I will.

You are positively not a downer! 🙂 Love you. Have a great week.
