I count myself among the legions of Frida Kahlo fans that will happily plunk down cold-hard cash or even colder interest-collecting credit cards to buy Frida-inspired products. But Frida Kahlo maxi pads?
I’ve seen Frida’s image plastered across journals, notepads, shower curtains, shoes and so many more items, but I can’t say that I ever thought Frida’s image would be used to sell feminine hygiene products or adult diapers. My brain just never went there, but other brains have because–while supplies last–Frida-loving monthly bleeders and adult pee-ers in Mexico can score themselves Frida Kahlo maxi-pad holders and dispensers.
Take a look for yourself.
Behold, Frida maxi pad holders:

Aren’t they cute? Not, the pads, the little tin containers.
Then there are Frida pad dispensers.

These would be harder to repurpose, but maybe you could put tea bags in them.

And then there are the adult diaper organizers.
Como cuando compras pañales para adulto porque traen una bolsa y un organizador de Frida Kahlo… No me ultrajuzguen 😭 pic.twitter.com/iwREHUx0tm

These can be used in your underwear drawer for regular chonies too.

I totally dig the idea of feminine hygiene and urinary incontinence products coming with a prize inside because if you find yourself needing those products, you should get a prize. I’m just not sure that Frida Kahlo should be used to sell either of those products. However, that does not stop me from wanting those collectible items. Why? Because they are cute, have Frida on them and I’m a sucker for anything cute with Frida on it. I’m not gonna use them to keep my pads in, though.
In fact, as soon as I heard about them, I asked a friend who will be visiting Mexico soon to shop around and see if she can score me some. If you don’t have a Mexico hook-up, I did look around to see if there are any available period or urinary incontinence type products available in the U.S. with an ode to Frida on them and I found these reusable sanitary pads featuring everyone’s favorite cejona on Etsy.
Frida Kahlo maxi pads do exist.

Frida fans, please note that these pads, like Frida, do not need feet because they have “alas para volar.”

Talk to me, do you think Frida would be cool with her image being used to sell period pads and adult diapers or do you think she would be pissed?

Well that’s definitely different!!!
