Welcome to another edition of I Comment Therefore I Am, where I put together a post from comments I’ve left on other blogs. Below are some of my favorite posts from the previous week and what they inspired me to say.
At Suburb Sanity, I read a post that made a lot of sense to me; it suggested that since we are not doing so great on the war on drugs front or the illegal immigration front, that perhaps we should focus our legal attention on things that really matter.
I want to fine people that don’t say thank you when I hold doors open for them, or the ones that splatter pee all over public toilet seats, or the men who come into my home and leave drops of pee on my bathroom floor.
Have you met The Bipolar Diva? She is a delightful diva that happens to have bipolar disorder. She wrote a post recently clearing up some misconceptions that some may have regarding bipolar disorder and also her love/hate relationship with it. I am no bipolar, but I sure could identify with one particular part.
I have Panic Disorder and my anxiety issues got really bad when I was pregnant. Things are under control now, but every once in awhile when I get into an argument with my husband, he tries to blame it on my “condition”. Uh, perhaps sometimes I’m just justifiably pissed off. Just because someone is “normal” doesn’t mean they are right.
Her response to my comment:
Thank you!
I know! It’s not like when he’s angry I blame it on his “Y” chromosome.
Mim’s Muddle had a post about a chain status that has been making the rounds on Facebook. It is about domestic violence and got under her skin because of the wording. Visit the original post to see the “chain status”. Although, I think it is important to call attention to domestic violence, I have to agree that the wording of this message misses the mark.
I don’t like it. Domestic violence is wrong whether or not someone else is coveting your woman, not to mention she’s not “your” woman, she is her own woman that deserves to be treated with respect.
The Goat posted a picture of a barber pole. I remember seeing them much more often in my childhood.
It’s becoming rare to see a barber pole. I think they may be on the endangered species list.
Do you know Betty from Cut and Dry? She is a delightful and supportive blogger. Recently she had a thoughtful post about happiness and wanted to hear our thoughts on the subject.
I wholeheartedly believe that happiness is a choice. Unfortunately, I have not always made that choice. I think my nature tends to lean toward a darker place, but I’m getting better. Live and learn.
I also believe that happiness begets more happiness.
That’s it for this edition of I Comment Therefore I Am.
