Welcome to another edition of I Comment Therefore I Am, where I put together a post from comments I’ve left on other blogs. Below are some of my favorite posts from the previous week and what they inspired me to say.
Mrs. 4444 shared how her daughter, Kendall, ran into some celebrities during a stay at Trump Towers. One of the celebrities was Josh Duhamel (from Transformers), who happens to be her brother’s favorite actor. Kendall went looking for Josh in the hotel weight room so that she could get an autograph for her brother. I commented…
That was very sweet of Kendall to sacrifice her time and go look for a hot movie star in the weight room. I’d like to think I would make the same sacrifice for any of my loved ones.
The Good Cook shared an encounter she had with her husband that recently passed, which reminded me of an encounter I had with an aunt that passed…
When my favorite aunt passed away, I was devastated. She always made me feel like I was the most spectacular person on the planet. Every single year on my birthday she would be the first one to wish me a happy birthday, even before my mother. If she was not around, she would call as the sun was coming up.
The night before my birthday (the first birthday after she passed), I sat and cried knowing that she would not be calling. Right before I woke up on my birthday, I dreamt that I walked into the kitchen and she was standing there waiting to wish me a happy birthday. She also made me a pot of coffee and I thanked her, but told her that she makes her coffee too weak for my taste. She pointed at the coffee and I could see that she had brewed it strong and to my taste. It was amazing that she found a way to still make me feel so special.
That’s it for this edition of I Comment Therefore I Am.

If Michael Buble were anywhere in town, I would totally sacrifice for my family and get all dolled up to go and get his autograph.
Your dream about your aunt is so incredibly touching and sweet.

I really truly think your aunt was sending you a message that day! My dad did the same thing for me. I KNOW it was him.

I remember my first birthday after my Dad passed away and how hard it was. Thank you for sharing your comment to the Good Cook. My heart goes out to her. – G

on the subject of sacrificing to hunt down celebrities – I just discovered SF has some famous skateboarding dogs that show-up around town. Have you seen them? I just watched a youtube clip – really good especially for a dog. Let me know if you have time to get on that?

The dreams about people who have passed are always amazing to me. It’s like I get to see them one more time.
Also, Josh Duhamel? I’d sacrifice an ARM for that stuff.

When you made the comment that I should use duct tape to fix my bra, I totally thought it would be part of the Comment Blog. That comment made me laugh. Thanks

Man, I forgot about that comment!

Why didn’t Kendall just go stalking him in the men’s room. Same thing….give people of notoriety a break. So Sorry about your auntie. If only people could live forever. Well, I guess they do….in our minds and hearts. You post. You keep her spirit alive.

Great comments, as always Mami. In other news, you only need one more follower for 500? We got to get that done!

Maybe that wasnt a dream? It’s amazing how those who go before us find just the right way to tell us they are still around.

Mrs 4444 has some awesome kids, doesn’t she? You do seem like the kind of person who would go out of your way for someone else.

I thought Kendall stalkin’ Josh into the weight room was a bold move. The gal knows what she wants….you go Kendall! After all a girl has to sacrifice sometimes to reach the goal at hand.
God bless your heart! I feel so bad that you missed your dear aunt on you birthday. I had an Aunt like this that just made me feel like the world revolved around me. It’s so cool that she was not only able to visit you in a dream but served ya up coffee just the way you like it! Your story touched my heart!
God bless and have yourself a most beautiful day!!!

I’ve heard of loved ones communicating with people through dreams. This is a particularly beautiful story. Thanks so much for sharing it. I”m glad that you had the special relationship with her that you did. And I’m really sorry that she has already gone to the next world so you can’t enjoy her presence physically anymore.

Wow! You were one very much loved niece. She was with you in spirit! How beautiful. I have had a couple of experiences of this type and it makes me realize that our loved ones will never be really ‘dead’ as long as we remember them – because they live in our hearts.
I also like what Kendall did for her brother. I’d also like to think I’d do the same as she did. When you make someone else happy, you make yourself happy too!
