This week I haven’t been on my mom game. I’ve lost my temper, been a jerk, apologized, and beat myself up over my shortcomings. I’ll get over it, but more importantly so will my kids. I haven’t been the best mom I can be, but I love my kids and I’m gonna keep on being human and learning from my mistakes.
I always tell Put Pie, my eldest, that she made me a mother. She loves it when I tell her that. She seems to glow with a bit of pride at the sound of it. I watched this video, which is actually an ad, and loved it because, well, it is just exactly how I feel about being a mother.
And now your Friday Fortune Cookie
(don’t forget to add “in bed” at the end, if you are so inclined):
You can’t always be wonderful.

I just want to point that Put Pie also made your husband a dad. Good work for a baby.

My grown children do not mention the times I lost my temper with them but they always talk about things like the times I made cinnamon toast when they were sick, fixed their bike instead of telling them to wait for Dad and the times I let them play with my make-up and help me paint the walls. Thank goodness:)
That video made me cry too…

We all do the best we can do and sometimes it is very hard to be a mother. ((HUGS))

Everyone has those kind of days. The kids have to know that not everything can be perfect all of the time.

Beautiful video. I can’t help but notice that you avoided any mother reference in your fortune cookie.haha How about “Your mother always hopes you will stay out of trouble.”
