This weekend we headed to downtown San Francisco. Our intention was to go MOAD (Museum of the African Diaspora), but they were closed on account of they were putting in a new installation. DOH!
SFMOMA to the rescue!
Well, we weren’t about to go home without getting our art fix, so we walked over to SFMOMA ( San Francisco Museum of Modern Art) and bought a membership. WOOT!
Love, Robert Indiana – 1973
We looked around for a bit while we were there.
Sculpture Terrace
I hadn’t been since their expansion and really enjoyed the outdoor spaces they’ve created.
Spider 1, Louise Bourgeois – 1995, cast 1996
I’m sure the girls and I will be taking full advantage of the membership this summer. There’s an Andy Warhol exhibit that opens on May 19th that we’re looking forward to.
One of the great things about having a membership is that we don’t have to try to see all of the regular exhibits and any special exhibits all in one visit. I’m not the kind of person that can spend an entire day at a museum and actually absorb everything that I see. I can only take in so much before I get art fatigue and just can’t take in any more of it.
