Every single year that I have lived in San Francisco something happens in October and every single year I act like it is the FIRST time that it has ever happened. IT GETS COLD! Oh and don’t give me that, you don’t know cold, you should see how cold it gets in blah, blah, blah. It doesn’t matter to me how much colder other places are when I happen to be cold right where I am. Now, I’m a homebody, so cold weather means I want to stay home even more and snuggle up, but guess what? My 2-year-old and 5-year-old have not mastered the art of doing nothing while curled up in a blanket and sipping hot cocoa. So I must find ways to keep my little critters happily occupied while indoors.
You can not possibly blame me for asking a curious monkey by the name of George to help me keep my kids busy and entertained. This year Curious George has really come through for me. In addition to reading bilingual stories like Curious George Goes to a Costume Party to my kids during the chilly days of fall, they also get to watch an ALL-NEW full-length movie which PBS will be airing on October 28, Curious George: A Halloween Boo Fest!
DVDs of the movie are available now and lucky for us we were sent a complimentary copy. My girls love the movie, which is a Halloween-themed, costume-infused delight featuring the legend of No Noggin and a monkey whose curiosity always leads to wacky adventures. Just scary enough for my littles, but not too scary for my littlest.
I’m getting used to the sight of this…
and this…
which is the way my kids not so subtly suggest we watch the movie…AGAIN.
I suggest you and the littles in your life check out your local PBS listings so that you can catch Curious George: A Halloween BOO Fest on October 28! You can also download a free printable Curious George mask and a free printable Curious George activity sheet on the PBSKids website.

Since the post title included “monkey” I knew this would be a good post.
Your girls gave a lovely display of the DVD for your camera. Do they enjoy being on your blog?

Shivvvvver! I remember how cold the wind off the Pacific can get and I too would run for a nice warm cozy spot.
Love, love, love Curious George! He is awesome! I will have to see about getting that movie for my grandchildren.

I love that! 😀 Nothing like cuddling up with a movie or a book on a cold day! Your girls are growing up pretty fast!

Bet it will be a cute movie! I grew up in Illinois and lived there for 38 years. Now I’m in Southern California and when it’s cold, it’s cold even if it is only 55 degrees!
