Let me tell you a little about my history with cars. Currently, I do not drive a Ford, before my current car, I did not drive a Ford and in fact in my entire history as a driver, which began when I was 16 years old, I have never driven a Ford. Of course, I’ve been aware of Fords, I’ve known other people who drive them, I’ve ridden in Fords, but I myself have never been behind the wheel of a Ford. Well, that’s all about to change.
But how, you ask?
Well, darlins, I am pleased to announce that I have been chosen as a #FordLocal Embajadora (that means ambassador for all you non-Spanish speakers). I will get the opportunity to drive all kinds of Fords and form an opinion on them with virtually no prior Ford experience to go on. I’m excited.
I’ll tell you what I’m particularly excited about. I can’t wait to try and experience this Active Park Assist feature that I’ve heard about. It parallel parks the car for you. I live in San Francisco, where parking is scarce and I can’t tell you how many parking spots I pass up because even though I know the car I’m driving can fit in the tight spot, I don’t have the parallel parking skills to do it, so I don’t even try.
I also want to learn more about Ford’s EcoBoost Technology. What the heck is it? I know it supposedly makes Ford vehicles that have it more fuel efficient, but that’s about all. Fortunately, this year Ford is hosting its second nationwide EcoBoost Challenge and it is coming to my very own city. It’s free, it’s fun, and you get the opportunity to test drive a Ford and compare it against the competition. There are even opportunities to drive in closed-course tracks and channel your inner racecar driver.
Here is a calendar of upcoming EcoBoost Challenge events, space is limited so register right now if you would like to participate. I’ll be at the San Francisco event.
I’ll keep you posted on all my #FordLocal adventures and let you know now what it’s like for this newbie to finally get behind the wheel of a Ford.

Hola Claudia! Congratulations…how exciting 🙂 My first car was an Escort. Now I drive a Focus and I love it. Last week we rented an Edge while in LA and I really liked it. My car doesn’t have Park Assist but I’d love to try it as well. Besos!

We need to have some Ford events in Kansas! I swear, I live in the land of gigantic trucks and Fords seem to dominate. I’ve owned two Mustang convertibles in my lifetime so I do have some experience with Ford.

We had an Escort when we first got married but haven’t had one since then. I’d love to check out how the new Ford is changing the car industry at one of these events!
