I found my dentist through my kids. They go to Park Smile Dental and love it. I tried to take them somewhere closer to home once and they lost it, cried the entire time.
One of the ways you can recognize Park Smile Dental is that most of the time they have giant balloon art decorating the entrance. I’m thinking the balloons are there mostly for their pediatric patients, but when my kids were younger they used to be terrified of the giant blow-up art. I found their terror hilarious. I mean most kids are terrified of the dentist, but my kids were freaking out about the balloons they had to walk by to get to the dentist. I can report that they no longer live in fear of the inflatable sculptures anymore.
I am a big girl and have never been afraid of the balloons, but I am terrified of dental visits due to anxiety disorder and some horrendous dental experiences in my past. In other words, unlike my kids, I’d rather hang with the balloons outside than go inside. But a person can only avoid going to the dentist for so long.
About a month ago I was in severe dental pain when I went to Park Smile for the first time as a patient and not the mother of two of their patients. They have been exceptional caregivers to me.
After my first visit, I was referred to an excellent endodontist for a root canal and this weekend I returned to get fitted for a crown. After years of not going to a dentist, I’m so happy to have found a practice that makes the process so much easier for me.
Not gonna lie, I’d still much rather hang with the balloons outside than walk inside and be treated, but I am beyond grateful for the care offered once I do get the courage to walk inside.
