Pigeon Point Lighthouse
The beautiful Pigeon Point Lighthouse has been standing 115 feet tall and saving lives along the rocky San Mateo shore since 1872. The area used to be called Punta de las Ballenas until the awful 1853 Carrier Pigeon shipwreck.
We took a family trip there a few weeks ago and just took it all in. Fresh air, beautiful views, a gorgeous lighthouse

Another cool thing about the spot is that there’s a hostel there. It’s about 50 miles south of San Francisco and so worth a visit if you are ever in the area.
