When I was in high school I got my very first planner, it was a Day Runner and I adored it. I’ve always been and always will be a paper planner kind of gal. There is something about writing things down by hand with pen and paper that helps me remember them more than if i were simply to stick it all in my Google Calendar. Science backs me up on this too as studies have shown that writing things down helps you remember them more than typing them.

Planners have come a long way cuteness-wise since my first Day Runner and now I find myself big into ban.do planners like the one pictured above and I also love to decorate my planners with colored gel ink pens and the occasional sticker or two—I’m not a crazy sticker lady, I show restraint. There have been no studies that link pretty planner accessories to an increase in organizational skills or memory boosting, but I can tell you from experience that they are definitely mood boosters.
