Does this beauty make me look fat?
Does it go with my new hat?
Is it too tight around my ass?
Do you think it makes me look crass?
Can I wear it to Sunday brunch?
Or do you think it’s a bit much?
Will it ever be enough?
Will I always stress about this stuff?
Have those same questions…..love my new floppy hat but I feel like I need to be going somewhere in order to wear it.
I like your rhyming post today!
Just trash all the mirrors and you’ll start looking from within.
Found a shirt yesterday that look great from the front but hideous from the back. The whole situation threw me into a crisis! I can relate to your thoughts!
why do we do this to ourselves? why are we never satisfied? I will say I’m happier (or would content be a better term) with “me” as I get older.
My son still tells me I’m beautiful (I wonder how long that will last). That’s all that matters, I suppose… 🙂
I ask some of those same questions a lot. Great post!
It never ends!
Sounds a little like Dr. Seus has been here!
From what little I know – married, 2 kids, hangs out in the city by the bay. Things could always be a little better. That thought keeps us improving and growing. But perfection? – forget it. It’s just an illusion.
“Will I always stress about this stuff?” – you already have that answer – I bet there has been many moments with your family that this stress was no where to be found.
Nice poetry.
All this time you’ve been a poet…
and all this time I didn’t know it?
Stop looking so hard at your booty
and maybe then you’ll see your beauty.
I say the same thing to myself nightly
Lest you think I’m high and mighty…
Does mighty rhyme with nightly? Wow I suck at this, haha!
Haha…she said hard.
Ooooh, that’s a good one!!! Sorry I’ve been so absent, I’m on “vacay” in my brain, ya know! 🙂
Lol! My daughter works in a clothing store, and she says the ones that worry the most and ask the most “Can I have your opinion on this” questions…are between 60 and 70+yrs old…so maybe it’s an always stress? Gee, I hope not.
I was waiting for the Cat in the Hat to pop out! LOL
I don’t know if it is vanity or just striving to look our best, but yes, I think the questions will always be there. The questions may change but they will always be there in some form.
all I know is my beauty and I cannot befriend any cameras these days.
what a clever write, asking the questions so many have asked…well done
I ask these questions of myself EVERY day! Well put.
🙂

I waste so much time stressing about this stuff!
I waste so much time stressing about this stuff!
Yes!
Love this. Confession: as much as I go rah rah over inner beauty, I am stressed out about these same questions…
I’m with trashing the mirrors.
You’re only as pretty as you feel, and no one can convince even the most beautiful woman of that, if she doesn’t feel it.
None of us feel really beautiful… lets be real.
There is always something we would like to change!
