No one, but no one is prepared for the amount of poop and pee they will deal with when they become a parent. It’s crazy. It’s a lot! It’s messy! It’s yucky! You arm yourself with your weapons of choice, roll up your sleeves, and do your best to keep their tushies and yourself clean.
I have to say that with my second, I have been much more successful at keeping her messes inside her diaper. Much of the success comes from finding a diaper that works with us. I’ve tried many and I still switch it up, but Huggies Snug and Dry diapers are always a favorite. We don’t get those messy up-the-back explosions with them and they keep her dry while she sleeps, which I really appreciate because many times she sleeps with me (in other words, they keep me dry).
I can never have enough diapers on hand and I hate running low because then everything revolves around making sure we get more diapers. An opportunity came up via Collective Bias™ to shop for Huggies Snug and Dry online at Walmart.com and I was all over it.
I’m not gonna lie to you, I am not the biggest fan of shopping at Walmart in person. Aesthetically, it does not please me and it also happens to not be very close to me. However, shopping online from them is a whole different experience for me; it’s easy, convenient, and shipping is either free or inexpensive.
In this case, I could have gotten the diapers shipped to my home for free and that’s after getting the rollback price on them that is available both in-store and online. I did end up paying for shipping though because we were almost out of diapers and I couldn’t wait the amount of time it would have taken to get them with free shipping. After I did the math of what it would have cost me in gas, time, and bridge toll, paying for shipping was TOTALLY worth it. The diapers showed up at my doorstep with very little effort from me.
I’m not sure that the diapers needed so much protective packaging around them. I mean they are already in boxes and they are diapers, not Fabergé eggs.
Before I could even break down the box they came in for recycling, Luna Pie was putting those diapers to the test.
When my first daughter, Put Pie, was in diapers we used to have them delivered all the time and it was great. I’m not sure why we stopped doing it, but I’m glad I was reminded of the practice because there are so many other things that I would rather be doing than making a trip to buy diapers. We’re set for awhile.
Have you ever gotten diapers delivered?

I like anything delivered to my door, but these days I prefer pizza to diapers.
unknownmami says
Give it time and you’ll want both pizza and diapers delivered.

Joey still wears pull-ups to bed. I’d like to have roughly 375 diapers delivered to the door so I won’t have to worry about pull-ups for an entire year. We’ve never had anything like that delivered. We just go to Target to buy the store brand which doesn’t leak so I’m good.

We get the Target brand too when we’re at Target.

I am a huge fan of online shopping. Just avoiding the commute is worth it. And most stores these days, offer free shipping, AND a promo discount, which is very very welcome. Sometimes I find it crazy that I can sit at home, order something and spend less to have it home delivered, beautifully packed, than slog all the way to and from a physical store AND pay more.
Diapers. Oh my Gosh! When Vidur was little, until he was 8 months old, we did not use diapers. Yeah, I can see your look! We used cloth nappies and went nuts washing and drying and ironing them. Then, the rains began. Nothing would dry in that high-humidity. That’s when a cousin yelled at me and asked if I was mad not to use disposable diapers. Pampers was the only decent brand available, rather far from where we lived and I had to plan half a day to go n come back. And oh, they were expensive! This was 15 years ago. Then fast forward to when he was 2 years old – the medical stores in our area had it at a premium, which was okay because it still saved us the commute. Luckily for me, he got potty trained at 2.5 years and stopped wearing the diapers. Of course, being able to play in the bathroom with all the taps open and a lot of soap were the main attraction.
These diapers look pretty. The initial Huggies we got here in India more than a decade ago were not great. So good to know such good stuff is available now.

Put Pie was potty trained before she was 2 and I was hoping Luna Pie would follow the same timeline, but no. Luna tells me she is not ready.
