The Castro Theater, built in 1922, is a beautiful movie theater located in the Castro district of San Francisco.
May it live long and prosper.

Love the colors and the old feelings they evoke.
Is the colour of that sky for real because I’m damn jealous.
I miss old fashioned cinema theatres 🙁 This one is a treat for the eye. Have a great Sunday with your family. x
That’s beautiful. Reminds me of a theater we had close to our place in another city, decades ago, called The Plaza. It used to show only English films. I’ll never forget watching Saturday Night Fever, Scaramouche, The Duchess and the dirtwater fox, Flashdance… you know – those days.
Can you imagine, I expected to see more photos of you? 🙂
Happy Sunday to you!
Beautiful colours and lovely clear blue sky – I’m very jealous. Have great day.
Great minds think alike this week…though your pictures are better.
I love these old retro theaters and signs. It does my heart good to see them restored and still in use.
Very cool old theatre. I spelled it that way on purpose – retro spelling for a lovely retro building.
Love the colors of the sign – so bright and wonderful … would love to see the features inside the theater!
I love old historical buildings like that. We have the Tampa Theatre, which simply stunning. May they all live long!
Gorgeous shot!. Yes may it live long and prosper.
Lovely images but it is the amazing blue sky that attracts my eye… we seem to be stuck in constant grey skies at the moment.

Theaters built in the early 1900’s had so much character. These are wonderful shots, so vivid. Have a wonderful week.
I just love the signs from years past. Thank you for sharing.
great color in these shots. it’s been a while since i’ve been here. hope you are doing well!
I know, I’ve missed you and your contributions.
You had me a “A oy”. I use that term often. Well, not really, but now I plan to.
Be well.

I can’t get over how bright a day you had for these shots–wow! I really love to be inside old theaters; this one looks like a gem!
I love old theaters. Great shots.
I think I have been inside once and I agree the interior is lovely! It’s great to see these old theaters still in existence.
Nice to meet you Claudya! Scanning back posts to catch up and they were so much fun to read. Wonderful theatre photo.
Wow. Just reinforces my desire to visit San Francisco. On my rather lengthy bucket list!
Love the modern sign against the time worn details on the building wall. Great colour!
