That silhouette above is of my daughter admiring the sunset at Alamo Square in San Francisco. Alamo Square is a lovely spot to watch the sun go down. For me though, it’s not the sunset that takes my breath away in this picture, it’s the girl admiring the sunset.
Everything changes when you become a parent or at least that’s what it feels like at times. For example, I used to think that the sun rose in the east and set in the west. Now that I’m a mother, I know that the sun rises and sets on my children.
It’s a powerful thing this love I feel for them and just as beautiful as any sunrise or sunset.
