Welcome to your weekly edition of The Flying Chancla Report. I’ve thrown my chacla across the internet and it’s landed on quite a few chanclazo worth pieces.
- I suppose it was only a matter of time, but I still can’t wrap my head around the churro dog. The churro dog has been described as a dessert that is made up of a “warm cinnamon churro sitting inside a Long John chocolate-glazed donut, which is then topped with frozen yogurt, caramel and chocolate sauces.” Wow! Would I try it? Heck yeah? Am I slightly horrified? Yup. So where can you purchase this bicultural sugar bomb? At Chase Field, the home of the Arizona Diamondbacks.

- Super impressed with the global minimum maternity leave policy that telecommunications company Vodafone Group is setting up. They are going to offer 16 weeks of PAID maternity leave to their employees even if the national maternity leave requirements in whatever country their employee is based in do not call for it. Oh, and it doesn’t end there. When the employee returns to work they will be able to work 30 hours a week while still making their full time salary as a way of helping them transition back to work. Why would the company be so generous? Because they want to retain talent and one of the directors at Vodafone, noticed that in places like Italy, Portugal and Romania where there is already policy in place that helps women transition back to work after maternity leave the company was more successful in keeping their employees after maternity leave.
- This dancing cow video makes me smile from ear to ear because it shows that you can make the best out of just any situation. You’ve gotta see it because this cow has MOOVES!Post by Nova 106.9.
- Oh my Gatos! The people at “The Real” really screwed up. They did a segment on making sweet quesadillas and thought it would be a hoot to dress up the hosts in bigotes, sarapes and big ol’ sombreros because you know that’s how all Mexicans dress when they make fake quesadillas. Oh boy! Can you say “la regaron”?! “The Real” has tried to get rid of their stereotypical joke fail by removing photos of the hosts wearing their goofy getups, but through the magic of the internets there is still proof. Hit play to see what I’m talking about. I might still try one of those quesadilla recipes though. After all it’s not the quesadillas’ fault.
That’s all my flying chancla has time for this week. Remember, spread love, not chanclazos!
