This week my travels through the internet have me pondering the truth. What is the truth?
Can there be more than one truth?
How often are we wrong about what we consider to be the truth?
I’m not sure I know what “THE” truth is, but I do know this…
What are your thoughts on truth?
And now your Friday Fortune Cookie
(don’t forget to add “in bed” at the end, if you are so inclined):
The truth can be hard to accept.

Being truthful is important to me. Lies will always come back to haunt you.
Have a wonderful weekend and a fun 4th of July!

Words to live by! Thanks for sharing. My favorite truth quote comes from Shakespeare: “…to thine own self be true, and it must follow as the night the day, thou canst not then be false to any man.”

To be completely honest with you… I truly don´t know. Tee Hee!! And now I need a drink!

I don’t know either… lately “the truth” “assumptions” and “lies” all seem to go together especially when it comes to the internet.

Fantastic. I love who you curated these true words. I just pinned the last one — my fave. This also speaks to me: “Treat kindly every miserable truth that knocks begging at your door, otherwise you will some day fail to recognize Truth Himself when He comes in rags.” by Austin O’Malley.

Good thought, Bren.

I knew a man who said once that, “Your perception is your reality.” I try to keep that in mind, especially with students, because we all see things do differently.

I do believe there is one truth and that is found in Jesus who said “I am the way, the truth and the life….” Without that truth, I would be lost in a world that no longer recognizes the truth.

Hondurans use the tag, “verdad,” or true on the end of most sentences. They also joke quite a bit about whether something is true or a lie. This society also has lots of ways to hide the truth and using the excuse of being polite. Interesting post, Unknown Mami.

🙂 As a fan of Mark Twain, I am loving that quote – it is a way of life. As your fan, I love you for bringing this post! Hugs and happy weekend!

One of my favorite quotes: All things are subject to interpretation whichever interpretation prevails at a given time is a function of power and not truth.

That last one is one of my absolute favorites. When I was young, I used to lie a lot, often just making up bullshit stories to fill the space because I couldn’t handle the intimacy of a “comfortable silence.” It was really pathetic. I wish I could remember what the turning point was, but I’m over it, and it’s been incredibly freeing. Today, I live in the truth, and it is a very nice place to live.
Thanks for linking up! Have a great weekend 🙂

So very true! Lying takes too much work. I want the truth. I’m a big girl & I can handle it.

I LOVE Mark Twain’s quote! It is so true. Why lie? Why not just do it right the first time so you don’t have to put yourself in a position that compromises your reputation? Great post!

Everything you say is true…

God is truth–whatever is consistent with his character is truth. Jesus said in John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No man cometh unto the father but by me.

I believe that truth is truth, but that we don’t always see things truthfully, even when we think we do.
