It was a typical summer day in San Francisco, which means it was pretty much freezing. We piled into the car and made our way to Tiburon, which is less than 20 miles from San Francisco and makes for a great day trip with the kids. The sun was out and we could see our chilly city as we strolled the Tiburon shoreline. I love San Francisco’s temperate climate, but sometimes in the summertime you don’t feel like shivering.
You can get to Tiburon from San Francisco via highway or you can take a ferry as well. It’s a beautiful, clean place with lots of fun stores and places to eat. There are less than 9,000 residents and according to my husband they are all bajillionaires (I don’t know how accurate his assessment is, though).

It’s so great that you get to live in a city on the water! Even though it is cool/rainy sometimes, being on the coast brings such wonderful landscapes and adventures. Plus ferries!!
