Abuelita Chocolate #Giveaway

A package arrived from Nestlé with a cozy red scarf, a long spoon, 2 cups, and Abuelita chocolate both granulated and instant. I love Abuelita chocolate because it brings back these great memories from childhood. I remember visiting my nana in Tijuana for a vacation and spending time bonding with cousins. Every evening, my nana and tía abuela would call us in from playing and we’d have a delicious hot cup of chocolate and pan dulce. It’s strange I don’t remember any of the other meals I had during that trip, but those hot chocolates and pan dulces will forever stay fondly in my memories.

Abuelita chocolate now comes in a granulated form and instant packages. It has the same delicious flavor as always, but is quite frankly much easier and more convenient to make.

Yesterday was a hard day. It’s the holiday season. I want everything to be cozy love and bliss, but the news has been harsh and painful. It’s impossible not to hurt when others are hurting. As a parent it feels impossible not to ache when other parents are aching. I won’t get into it because this is not the time or place, but we need more love in the world to combat this pain. We need more love in our lives.

My children are so very young (4 and almost 2), I kept the TV off so they would not accidentally see the harshness on TV, the harshness in the world. I loved them like I always love them, but I held back tears and maybe kissed them more and hugged them more than I normally would. I fed them dinner and then did something I would not normally do. I let them have a sweet warm cup of chocolate before bed.

And they loved it like I did when I was a kid. They enjoyed it together and kept telling each other how yummy it was.

    Honestly, I am not a huge fan of chocolate drinks. I am fond of my abuelita, my Cajun Grandma who made us treats with Dixie Sugar, a local product that was used to make magic such as pecan pralines or coconut macaroons. Good for you to protect your babies.

    i would love to win to send these packets back to college with my baby (age 18!).  we love the discs of abuelita and have used them for years.  what a surprise to learn that they have instant packets!  thanks for a super yummy giveaway!
