Adding Outlines With Photoshop Elements 2019

Photoshop Elements outline

Earlier this year, I received a complimentary copy of Photoshop Elements 2019 as well as a gift card to buy supplies to make and print greeting cards (I was NOT paid for this post). At the time, I didn’t really use it very much because it was acting all glitchy with my Apple computers. This was such a bummer because I’ve been using Photoshop Elements since I started blogging back in 2009 and I’ve always liked it. Fortunately, a recent update made it so that the program and my computers get along nicely now.

Anyways, I tell you this because this weekend I’m sick and have spent far too much time in bed, so I decided to play with Photoshop Elements just for fun and the above pictures are the results.

Basically what I did was use the auto selection tool to select what I wanted to outline. Then after I refined the selection and edges, I added a stroke outline. If you’re interested, I used this tutorial to get me started:

I didn’t do exactly what this tutorial does, but I found it useful to learn how to use the auto selection tool.

Here’s a before and after of one of the pictures I played around with:

I predict I’ll be playing around a lot more with outlines in Photoshop Elements 2019 (affiliate link -which means if you buy via this link I’ll make a small commission at no extra cost to you).
