My husband loves to take our family on hikes. A few weeks ago he took us to Skyline Ridge Preserve, which is a little over an hour away from San Francisco. It was freeze-your-pompis-off cold when we got there, but once we got moving it wasn’t so bad. We did the Alpine Pond Loop Trail that’s about .5 miles long. It’s an easy, quick, family-friendly trail with lovely views. Easy enough that I could see us taking my mother, who is 72 and not much of a hiker, there the next time she visits.
I can be a real homebody so I’m glad that my husband is the opposite otherwise my ghostly palor would be blinding.

Lovely – and lovely that you both find the middle ground.

Looks lovely. Walks like that are so good for the family. Sounds like the kind of place I could hike at with my COPD.
