Truthfully, I don’t consider myself the “greenest” of the green, but I’m definitely a shade of green. I recycle, use eco-friendly cleaners, carry reusable bags, consider my impact on the environment. I am green, but I am not perfect. I don’t always (like I fail at this one all the time) compost, I use way too many paper towels, I shower longer than I should, I use disposable diapers and wipes, and I’m sure I commit all sorts of other non-greenisms (yes, I coined a term) on my particular green journey, but I’m fine with it because I know that doing some good is better than doing no good at all. I also know that not one single one of us is perfect. Are you green?
A recent study found that some women feel the pressure to be green is stronger than the pressure to be thin and that many feel judged when they commit “eco-violations”. Check out the following infographic…
Forget about shame or stress or pressure. Let’s celebrate the ways in which we can be green and encourage others on their green journey. Trending toward green is so much easier now, than it used to be. Eco-friendly products are available in just about every supermarket. When I travel outside of San Francisco, which is a pretty eco-friendly city, I see that there is a perception from many that you have to be ridiculous to be green and do all sorts of inconvenient things, which is simply not the case.
Speaking of San Francisco greeness, I find this episode of the Green Housewives that pokes fun of the “extreme green” amongst us funny…

Green products definitely cost more but there are ways around that. I shop places like vitacost which has great prices and stock up during sales. I save a lot but it does take a little more time then just grabbing anything off the shelf at the grocery store.
