The stars have aligned in a way that has made the seemingly impossible possible on this planet: Avocado lovers can get paid to eat an avocado a day!
This is NOT a lie!
Say what? It’s true. This is not a hoax, it’s not a joke, it’s an actual avocado-lovers dream opportunity. Thanks to the Habitual diet and Avocado Trial (HAT) being conducted by Tufts University, Loma Linda University, Pennsylvania State University, and UCLA, if you qualify, you could get paid $300 to eat an avocado a day for six months.
No, guacamole is NOT extra!
If you get chosen for this opportunity, you do not have to pay EXTRA for guacamole. It’s like the world will turn into your own personal avocado heaven where you not only get to eat your avocado, you get paid for eating it.
Getting picked would change your life – for six months at least.
Imagine what it would be like to get paid to eat avocados. It would be like walking into a taqueria, asking them to put guacamole on your burrito and then charging them for the guacamole.

Why is this happening?
HAT is a research project investigating “whether eating an avocado every day impacts energy balance and metabolism.” Basically, the study wants to find out if eating avocados can help you lose weight.
There is a catch though.
As with all reputable studies, there has to be a control group. This study will be composed of two groups. One group will be given 16 glorious avocados every two weeks for six months and be required to eat one avocado a day for those six months. The other group, the control group, will eat no more than two avocados a month during the same period. The groups will be chosen at random so there is no way of knowing if you will hit the avocado lottery ahead of time. At the end of the six months, both groups will receive $300 and the control group will also get 24 avocados as a consolation gift.
