Easy Bathroom Makeover With Just 3 Items From Target

I never need an excuse to go to Target, but this weekend I had an actual reason to go. I had to buy toilet paper AGAIN because I always have to buy toilet paper.

But wait, there’s more! I was intent on grabbing a few things from Target for a bathroom makeover. It’s summer, the kids are home, their friends are coming over and our bathroom, which is tiny, was in desperate need of an update. 

When I say our bathroom is tiny, I mean it.

The room that needed the makeover has a toilet in it and that’s about it. It is crucial to always have extra rolls of toilet paper in this room because horror of horrors would be to have to call out to have someone slide a roll in through the door while you yell at them to look away. (Not that I would know because, of course, that’s never happened to me. That’s my story and I’m sticking to it.) 

And while we’re on the whole “sucks to run out of toilet paper” topic, can I get some sympathy for being the only person in my home that EVER replaces an empty roll? I can’t really blame my kids because they are still so little that changing it is too hard for them, but they could give a mother a heads up if you know what I mean.

For the bathroom makeover, I strolled through the aisles of Target and bought three things. 

A window panel,

a cute piece of wall decor, 

and a new container to store extra TP.

Doesn’t it look SO much better?

Here’s a before and after comparison…

I repeat, I only bought three items for this bathroom makeover: a curtain, a container to hold extra toilet paper and a small piece of wall decor! The plants and small knick-knacks are things I grabbed from other parts of the house. 

The difference in lighting (due to time of day) and the new window dressing make the yellow trim around the window in the “after” picture really pop. It’s crazy what a difference such small changes can make. 

I guess you could say that this is the story of how I turned a crappy place into my happy place. Sorry, I couldn’t help myself.
