Benefits of Staying Connected with a Prepaid Secure Hotspot That’s as Mobile as You Are

#LifeConnected AT&T NETGEAR Unite Express

When it comes to the internet, I don’t want to be connected all the time, but it’s crucial that I have the freedom to be connected whenever I need to be and from wherever I happen to be because—I can’t believe I’m going to say this (I promise I’m blushing from the slight grandiosity of this statement), but—I am what is referred to as a mompreneur. Yup, I’m a mom who is an entrepreneur and you can totally blame my children for it.

Honestly, I had no intention of becoming an entrepreneur and then I became a mother. I found that I needed and wanted to work doing something creative, but I also very much needed the flexibility of being physically present for my kids at certain times.

That’s when I realized that freelance and telecommuting work would allow me to work while still being anywhere I physically needed to be. You wanna know what I like about being able to work from just about anywhere? Uh, pretty much EVERYTHING. There are however some challenges that come with working on your own and staying connected.

I am a writer, blogger and online content creator. In order to do this successfully, I need a reliable internet connection. That’s not a problem when I’m at home because well, I have access to the internet 24/7, but when I’m out and about I need a reliable way to go online too and sometimes my phone just doesn’t cut it. Have you every tried to upload a post to a CMS via your cellphone? It’s not easy and that dang auto correct will drive you crazy.

Having to run to the nearest café or find a place to get free wifi blows and sometimes isn’t a doable option.

I have used my phone to tether my laptop and get online that way, but that requires a monthly commitment and that means spending money on a data plan that lets me tether even on the months when I don’t need it. I don’t like to spend money unless it’s on shoes or I absolutely need to that’s why I was interested in trying out AT&T Unite Express by NETGEAR. Basically, it’s this little device that acts as a mobile hotspot and gives you secure internet access via AT&T’s 4G LTE Network.

Let me tell you what I love about the device and staying #LifeConnected via an AT&T Unite Express mobile hotspot:

  • The device is easy to toss in a purse and has up to 10 hours of battery life on a single charge.
  • There is no annual contract, credit check or recurring monthly charges.
  • You can securely connect up to 10 wifi devices.
  • There is a guest wifi feature for one time users.
  • You pay for what you need when you need it and there are no unexpected overage charges because once you use up the data you paid for, you gotta prepay for more so no surprises there.

So what don’t I like about the device and prepaid hotspot? Well, really it’s just one thing and it’s because I don’t like to waste anything: when you pay for a month of service, if you don’t use all of the data you paid for within that time frame, it disappears. This isn’t a big deal because it’s pretty easy to monitor your data usage and figure out how much you need, but it’s worth noting in case you are like me and can’t stand the thought of wasting something you paid for.

I would recommend the AT&T Unite Express for dads, grads, small business owners, telecommuters and frequent travelers. You can find out more at the NETGEAR AT&T Unite Express web page,  WiFiFamily on Facebook and WiFi Family on Twitter.
