Blogkeeping Time

It’s time to do a little housekeeping, but I guess it would be more appropriate to call it blogkeeping.

As many of you know, I am about to have another baby. I’ve got about 3 weeks left, but it’s not like babies follow any schedule other than their own. I’ve been getting my house in order and now it’s time to get my blog in order.

I assume this child of mine will want my attention, which means that some attention will be diverted from blogging. I’m not going away, but I am setting myself up for semi-maternity leave.

Here’s what will be happening in the coming weeks:

Unknown Mami

  • Sundays In My City will continue to post as usual. I have scheduled enough posts to go through March and by then I should have my wits about me enough to start taking new pictures to share.
  • Fragmented Fridays will continue, but may be very brief posts that just keep you updated on what is going on in my life and brain.

Unknown Mami

  • I Comment Therefore I Am, which I do on Mondays, will be discontinued  until I am back in the swing of blogging and commenting. Unless, I happen to leave or get an interesting comment then I will go ahead and post, but it will be more of an irregular feature than a regular one until further notice.
  • I have the kind of brain that does not stop so I’m sure that I will also post as inspiration strikes, but I suspect that sleep deprivation and exhaustion will get in the way.

I am excited about becoming a mami for the second time, but I am also aware that it is going to be tough. Although, I am a mami/mommy I have never considered this to be a “Mommy Blog”. This blog is an extension of me, part of me is a mami, but I am also a woman, a Latina, a wife, a sometimes actor, a frequent pain in the a$$, a humorist. Plain and simple: I am a blogger and I blog about whatever strikes my fancy.

UnknownMami.com has grown to be so much more than I ever expected. I can not imagine leaving it, nor you behind. You and this space have provided me with support, a creative outlet,  laughter, camaraderie, growth, and so much more. Thank you! I love being here, I love you visiting here, I love visiting with you. Please continue to stop by and visit. I’ll miss you terribly if you don’t.

I’m very excited for your new journey! I found the 2nd (and 3rd) child to be much easier than the first. You’re used to being a mother and you’re used to sleep deprivation! Usually the 2nd children are much more easy going, too! Looking forward to hearing about it!!

I know how difficult it is when you have babies. They need all your attention all the time and it’s very difficult to put your mind on other things. I didn’t start blogging until my youngest started school! And a post like ‘I Comment Therefore I Am’, although enjoyable, takes a little work. I’ve also started writing short stories and a novel in the last year which have diverted my attention away from blogging and commenting. But when you feel ready to return to doing that post as a regular feature, I’d love to join you again. I find the discipline of doing a post like that keeps me blogging, visiting and commenting regularly. All the best amiga, I’ll be thinking of you and visiting you regularly meanwhile. xxxxxx
