This year from July 7-18 “Flower Piano” took over the San Francisco Botanical Garden. Twelve pianos nestled throughout the 55 acres invite visitors to play on them and on weekend days professional musicians are scheduled to perform. It’s pretty magical to walk around and listen to impromptu performances by random folks who were just walking around admiring plants a second ago.
We went this Saturday and got to participate in a scavenger hunt presented by The Rabbit Hole Theater Company. We were given a list of clues and used the clues to find characters in different parts of the Botanical Garden. Finding a mermaid, explorer, pirate, fairy and fortune teller (not pictured) is a pretty phenomenal way to spend a Saturday morning.

The mermaid was such a hit. I got very lucky to get a picture of her all by herself. We got there early and accidentally came in from the wrong direction so we caught sight of her before everyone else was there. After that she was constantly surrounded by admirers of all ages.
