Bouquets to Art is a yearly 5-day event that occurs at the de Young Museum in San Francisco. It features creations by floral designers that draw inspiration and pay homage to the de Young’s permanent art collection. These living works of art have a brief, but beautiful life. Above are just a few examples of the over 150 Bouquets to Art displays of 2012. Photos taken with my iPhone.
So very beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing.
Wish you could see it in person. I think you would enjoy it.
Yes, I’d love that! 🙂 I came back to see the pictures from the email alert about this post.
By the way, I had the most amazing deja-vu moment. I was replying to comments on my SIMC post – and – just noticed that all the five “related posts” pulled in by my Linkwithin widget are your SIMC posts! Fancy that! My first reaction was delight – then – (I’ve only had my first coffee and yet to have the second cup) – I suddenly wondered whether I had been replying to comments on your site, and wondered where your background went! Isn’t it funny? The delight stays! Fascinating!
Have a wonderful day!
I like the suspended one. Reminds me of those flowers in the tropics that hang from trees. (not enough of memory though to remember the name?)
So the florists do their living art as their interpretation of painting and sculpture?
Yup, that’s exactly right.
What a gorgeous exhibit. I could spend the whole day there… sneezing, but loving it.

Quite Lovely 🙂 WOW. X
a 5 day event with fresh flowers!?! I love it! I wish Atlanta would consider more fabulous like that!
It’s pretty cool to see the relationship between the art and floral arrangements. Just another reminder to live an artful life.
Beautiful! I have my own gorgeous bouquet right now….still gorgeous after five days, I’m happy to say!

So beautiful! You could really have a relaxing day there by admiring all the beautiful arrangements. Thanks for sharing!
I’ve never seen such ornate and creative flower decorations. BTW, I grew up in San Francisco and love the DeYoung. Thanks for the walk down memory lane!
