A few week ago we took the girls to Golden Gate Park on a Sunday to take advantage of a car-free day in the park. I’ve always been a big fan of car-free days in Golden Gate Park.

When I saw the title, I thought it read care free, but then I decided make car free, sort of care-free.

I didn’t know that Golden Gate Park has car-free days, that’s such a cool idea! I would imagine that it’s a favorite time to visit for families, when parents don’t have to watch out for their kids quite as carefully. I imagine the birds appreciate the relative silence as well. 😉

It’s really wonderful. It’s not the whole park, but a big chunk of it and especially when you have little kids it’s so nice not to be yelling at them to watch out for cars.

I live in a semi-rural area near New Orleans that has MUCHO bike trails throughout the county. I can take the dedicated bike trail near my home to almost anywhere I need to be. An added plus is that there are rest areas and children’s park areas along the main trail. I love riding bikes.

I remember walking that park. I especially like the lakes and the Japanese Tea Garden.

For a second I thought it said cat-free!
