Admiring the beauty of San Francisco’s Victorian-era glass greenhouse never gets old. Located in Golden Gate Park, the Conservatory of Flowers opened its doors to the public in 1879, which makes it the oldest public conservatory in the western hemisphere. It is a city, state and national landmark.
Can you believe that I’ve lived in San Francisco since 1992 and have never been inside? My kids and husband have been inside, but not me. That needs to change and soon.

I am sorry we didn’t have time to get to the conservatory of flowers during our recent visit to San Francisco. You picked a perfect day to photograph it, with the blue sky in the background.

What a beautiful building and the shape of it against the brilliant blue sky is gorgeous

Wow! The design of the building alone would draw me in, and to have the added bonus of pretty flowers! I would never have guessed that it was that old. Very awesome!
