Creating an Outdoor Staycation Oasis with Pier 1 Imports

#Pier1Outdoors #ADSponsored_Post_SignThis post is part of a compensated campaign in collaboration with Pier 1 Imports and Latina Bloggers Connect.

This has been an extraordinarily wonderful week for me. Due to circumstances perhaps caused by an oversight I made, I was forced to take a staycation. Twist my arm why don’t you. It’s been truly amazing because as a mother of two and a wife, I would not have planned a whole week to myself, but after this experience, I will definitely do it again.

Oh and guess what? My staycation happens to coincide with a #Pier1Outdoors project that I am working on to beautify my backyard. Oh yeah, it’s perfect because I am in total vacation mode and setting up my backyard to be a little tropical paradise oasis could not come at a better time.

The good folks at Pier 1 Imports gave me a $250 gift card to spruce up my outdoors. Options, options, what’s a woman on an oasis mission to do? Well, I took my time and before setting off on my shopping spree, I put my feet up and surfed the Pier 1 Imports Pinterest boards and their website for inspiration because I could get lost in Pier 1 Imports for hours if I’m not careful.

My goals for updating our outdoors space are:

  • Make budget-friendly changes that make a big impact.
  • Nothing too precious because I have little kids. Hello, unbreakable dishware!
  • Make it feel like a party even when it’s just us.

I found that what I was most drawn to was color, color, and color. Like these gorgeous cushions…

or the vibrant colors on these melamine plates…

or these bistro tables in a variety of colors…

Now, of course being on a $250 budget I wasn’t going to buy everything that my eyes wanted, but I’m so glad that I took the time to figure out that color is what I’m going for because color is what I got!

I walked into my local Pier 1 Imports store and narrowed down my selection to colors that make my heart sing! Here’s a glimpse of some of the loveliness I brought home with me.

I can’t wait to show you how I put it all together with items that I already have in my backyard.

What updates would you make to your outdoor space to create an oasis?

I would love to visit for a virtual drink, Claudya! How lovely those pictures look! I am still guilty of going for unbreakables/easytomaintain stuff. I so yearn to do something with my balcony – used to be a garden with pots but now, it is bare thanks to the pigeons that come and go as they please. Now, that scene with the cushions is going to be stuck in my head, thanks! 😀 Looking forward to your “renewed” space!

I would love to see what you do with it all. You chose such cute things. FYI – Trader Joe’s has organic watermelon juice with lime. It tastes rally good and makes a great margarita – but don’t add crushed ice, it dilutes the juice. Either on the rocks, or freeze the juice into cubes and crush them. Perfect drink to go with all of your red accessories.

Yum, I’m going to Trader Joe’s this weekend. Thanks for the tip.
