I like to say that I am an artist and my life is my medium. Perhaps it sounds pompous to call myself an artist, but it’s the truth. I am an artist because I create. Or maybe more than just creating, I am compelled to create.
You don’t have to paint or suffer or cut your ear off or die-before-you’re-appreciated to be an artist. You just have to embrace your creativity and express it. We’re all creative, every single one of us. Our creativity just takes on different forms.
Lately, my creativity takes the form of stringing words together into sentences and then sharing them with others. Some don’t get it, some think that I am wasting my time, but I know they are wrong because there are many others who do get it. There are those that get the concept that creativity begets creativity. They get that the sentences I create lead to other creative experiences. Experiences like going to Miami for an event sponsored by Lowe’s Ideas Creativas, where I will get to hang out with other creative people.
So how do you live a creative life? I know how I live a creative life, I live it by believing that I am an artist and my life is my medium. I know I said that already, but it bears repeating. How do you live a creative life?
Embrace your creativity, live it, and share it; you never know where it will take you.
Disclosure: This is not a sponsored post, this is just me stringing words together and sharing them with you.

You string words together beautifully! I started to embrace a creative life by saying out loud… I am a writer!

My art is my pictures and words. I can bring you to the side of a casket and weep for the loss of one you don’t know as if you were their child, or I can take you to the edge of a mountain where you can smell the cold air of snow freshly fallen. I like making pictures with words period. It is my outlet and way of bringing someone to a place they may never see or experience.

You are indeed an artist. You have to be creative as a mom too. Sometimes just putting together a meal for your family takes creativity.
I am just now embracing my own creativity. I crochet, embroider, use my camera, cook, water color, recycle used cards to make new cards and crochet around the edges, and so much more.
Your trip to Miami will be fun for you. Will you be taking the family?

I am creative, too. A few years ago, I would have said I wasn’t. I write and take photography.
