Our lazy days of summer have gone ADIOS and it’s back-to-school and back to the routine of go-go-go Monday through Friday. Germs are comin’ at us from this direction and that direction, which means it’s inevitable that someone in the family will come down with a touch of something, a fever, a pain, a headache or all of the above. When that happens I like to be prepared because once the pain has hit, it has hit and it’s not gonna wait or take a break while I run right over to the store to buy something to soothe it, amirite? That’s why when I was over at Target stocking up on the usual back-to-school supplies, I meandered over to the pain relief section conveniently located by the pharmacy to put together a DIY pain relief kit for the whole family.
For my husband I grabbed Extra Strength TYLENOL®, which can temporarily reduce a fever and also helps relieve minor aches and pains. Most of the time I take TYLENOL® when I need pain relief as well, but I also grabbed some MOTRIN® IB for myself because I like to take it when I get menstrual cramps. I know TMI, but such is my life once a month.
Our kids are both under 12 years old so for them I grabbed Children’s TYLENOL®, which won’t upset their little stomachs and is the #1 pediatrician recommended brand for pain and fever.
Originally I intended to use a cute makeup bag to create what is meant to be an on-the-go pain relief kit, but then I laid eyes on this adorable bag that is compact enough to stay in our medicine cabinet or take with when needed and I could not resist it. Keep in mind that you can use a makeup bag, a larger pencil case, a plastic tote or whatever works for you to stash what you need to get positively prepared with the right pain relief for you and your family at Target.
I want this kit to be no muss, no fuss so I am only putting in what I consider to be the basics for on-to-go pain relief because I don’t want to have to be digging around to find what I need. Aside from the Extra Strength TYLENOL®, MOTRIN® IB and Children’s TYLENOL®, I included a small packet of tissues for runny noses and a thermometer to monitor temperatures.
And just like that we’re set for the inevitable aches, pains and colds headed our way. We’ll do our best to stay healthy by eating, sleeping and exercising well, but if and when we find ourselves feeling a little less than great, we’re positively prepared.
What would you put in your pain relief kit?

I love that this kit is so colorful and cute. Looks so easy to tote around too which is great! Thanks for sharing! #client

I love the bag you found for your kit. When my kids were young I always had a similar kit, although my kit included two other things that I found my little zoo animals needed more often than pain medication. Band aids and Benadryl. LOL

I am going to add some band aids and neosporin.
