Do You Believe in Magic? (Fragmented Fridays)

Magic Jeanne

As I sat watching Magic Jeanne perform to an audience of children still young enough to whole heartedly believe in magic, I realized that I myself still believe in magic. Do you?

And I’m not talking about just the kind of magic that is created with slight of hand tricks. I mean honest to goodness magical moments in life. I believe in magic. My life is full of magic. My family is magic. One moment it was just me and then they started appearing one by one.

This blog is magic. One day I started writing without even knowing that the act of writing would turn me into a writer, but TADA…today I am a writer and not just here. My most recent freelance gig is a series of posts about holiday home décor at CafeMom. Tell me that ending up with a career that you love and never even dreamed about is NOT magic…I dare you to tell me it’s not magic!

Do you believe in magic in a young girl’s heart
How the music can free her, whenever it starts
And it’s magic, if the music is groovy
It makes you feel happy like an old-time movie
I’ll tell you about the magic, and it’ll free your soul
But it’s like trying to tell a stranger ’bout rock and roll

If you believe in magic don’t bother to choose
If it’s jug band music or rhythm and blues
Just go and listen it’ll start with a smile
It won’t wipe off your face no matter how hard you try
Your feet start tapping and you can’t seem to find
How you got there, so just blow your mind

If you believe in magic, come along with me
We’ll dance until morning ’til there’s just you and me
And maybe, if the music is right
I’ll meet you tomorrow, sort of late at night
And we’ll go dancing, baby, then you’ll see
How the magic’s in the music and the music’s in me

Yeah, do you believe in magic
Yeah, believe in the magic of a young girl’s soul
Believe in the magic of rock and roll
Believe in the magic that can set you free
Ohh, talking ’bout magic

Do you believe like I believe Do you believe in magic
Do you believe like I believe Do you believe, believer
Do you believe like I believe Do you believe in magic

What kind of magic is going on in your life?

And now your Friday Fortune Cookie
(don’t forget to add “in bed” at the end, if you are so inclined):

Magic can happen when you least expect it.

I really love magic tricks and never want to learn the ‘trick’ involved.  And yes, our world is full of magic and miracles.

I am going to be singing that song a weekend.  Not that it’s a bad thing.  I just like catchy tunes and tend to stick with the same song in my head.

I believe in oldies and this was good one.   I’m sure it’s just my biased view but I believe the songs from the 60’s and part of the 70’s had more meaning.

I just love that song, Claudya. I had it on an old tape for a very long time before I knew who sang it. So apt – the lovin’ spoonful! Love it.

Yes, I believe in magic. How else can I explain the love I feel for you, your family and your blog? Hugs!

Of course, I thought everyone believes in magic, if not Santa would not exist.

Magic happens for Kendall all the time; that kid just attracts great opportunities, people, etc. I can’t wait to take that kid to the casino when she turns 21.JK

Oh yes!  In fact, “magical” is one of my favorite words!
Loved your guest post!  I tried and tried but couldn’t leave a message to tell you it was terrific.  I decorate for the holidays too with holiday flannel sheets and pillow cases.  They just make me happy!

Oh, I may have to include your flannel sheets idea into one of my future posts for them. That is a great idea. Flannel sheets in the winter are great.
