A recent weekend family adventure had us visiting the Fitzgerald Marine Reserve in Moss Beach, California. Depending on traffic, it’s about a 40-minute drive from San Francisco. It’s a great place for kids and adults to explore tidepools and see the plant and animal life that live on the beautiful rocky shore.
It is a protected area and you are not allowed to collect seashells, rocks, driftwood or anything, which is a good thing because those things belong right where they are. Another good thing is that there are always rangers around that can answer questions and teach you all sorts of things. Best of all it’s free!
