The Flying Chancla Report: Presidential Tango, Tiny Tacos y Más

The_Flying_Chancla_Report-unknownmami

Hola Chulas y Chulos! This week’s The Flying Chancla Report came out later than usual and is a bit on the brief side because it is actually written by a real life Latina mom and her chancla.

Yup, you guessed it, I am the real life Latina mom I am writing about in the third person. The thing is that my chancla and I are busy dealing with a sick child, but we still have things to share with you because we couldn’t possibly leave you without your weekly chanclazo. So grab onto you pompis and read on!

  • The Obamas were in Argentina on Wednesday at an official state dinner where they watched two professional tango dancers perform. Once the dancers were done they invited both President Obama and the first lady to dance. President Obama tried to say no more than once even, but when it became clear that there was no getting out of it, he got up and did his best to on the dance floor.

Critics are pissed that he would be dancing so soon after the bombings in Brussels, but honestly what was he supposed to do? Just sit there and leave the dancer hanging? I’m sure he didn’t really want to get up and dance the tango with a professional dancer, I know I wouldn’t want to without practicing for at least a month ahead of time. He tried to say no and she wasn’t havin’ it. If you’ve ever been to a party where Latinos are dancing you know that once you get asked to dance,  you pretty much have to get up and dance. Just sayin’.

  • Congratulations to Eugenio Derbez who “became the 88th Latino performer” to be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His star was unveiled on March 10 and even though the announcement that Derbez was getting a star was made a while ago, it doesn’t seem real until you can walk all over it.

  • Do you like tacos? What about tiny tacos? My chancla and I are beyond impressed by how much effort went into making these adorable tiny tacos that would not fill us up at all. They are cute, but I would need way too many to be satisfied.

  • But you know who would love tiny tacos? A tiny hamster. Check it out!

That’s it for this week’s The Flying Chancla Report. I love you mucho and remember, spread love, not chanclazos!
