Fragmented Fridays

Is it bad that I love giving and receiving equally? I do and I’m shameless about it. Whenever possible, for every gift I give, I get one for myself as well. I’m just so good at getting myself gifts that I love. For example, I bought myself the least expensive Canon lens (EF 50mm f/1.8 II) I could find. I’m so glad I got it for myself because it works really well in low light and I’ve been spending a lot of time indoors.

The new lens, our holiday decorations, and a post on How to Capture Holiday Lights Bokeh led to the following picture:

Christmas Bokeh

I’m pretty happy with it considering it was my first attempt at capturing Bokeh.

Santa Ornament

I also got to play with Photoshop Elements and do some layering with photo textures. I don’t really know what I’m doing as far as photo editing, but as far as I’m concerned, they are all happy accidents.

Christmas Baby Foot

A not so happy accident (and the reason I’ve been spending so much time indoors) is that Put Pie has been sick since Monday after she got her flu vaccine. Poor thing has been running a fever and having very uncomfortable nights. Why do illnesses always get worse at night?

Lovely girl

I’m hoping she will be back to her usual self by Christmas Eve. If not, I might have to ask you all to postpone the holidays until she is all better.

And now your Friday Fortune Cookie
(don’t forget to add “in bed” at the end, if you are so inclined):

Whether you’ve been naughty or nice, may you get what you deserve.

I bought myself all kinds of stocking stuffers! I’ll be so pleased to find them in my stocking christmas morning. 😉 Your new camera must be so awesome and I’m completely green with envy! Enjoy!

It’s just a new lens that I got and it’s pretty modest, BUT I love it and I’m learning quite a bit.
Dang, I forgot to get myself stocking stuffers!

Iraq War ended?  That is a happy news.  (I”m sorry I had been slow or nil on news.  Everything I learn now is what the bloggers tell me).

Happy holidays and warm season’s greeting Mami and family and may Put Pie get well very, very soon.

Yay! For the new lens, I love the first pic of the Christmas lights.  I think buying for you helps the resentment to stay away (at least for me it does.) Merry Christmas. I hope your little one feels better soon. .

I love giving and receiving too. I bought myself my own stocking fillers this year as I knew my partner would rush into one shop on Christmas Eve and get me a load of stuff I don’t want otherwise, and that’s just a waste of money to me.

    Love the photos!

If I buy “gifts” for myself near Christmas, I just include them under the tree and mark them as from Santa.  No need to feel guilty at all!  Hope Put Pie is okay for Christmas Eve!

That fortune cookie is something I’m  not sure I’d want to read…it can be taken two ways I guess.  But if you’ve been good…then the gift in return will be good, right?

Awwwwwwwwww, love the little toesies!!   That is such a cute cute photo.  And your new lens for  your camera is working out wonderfully.  Great photos.  And yes, I do the same…after all, I KNOW what I want and like, so I too buy myself stuff…in fact, all year long.  hehehehehe.  So,  now you know why that fortune cookie fortune is something I’m leery about.

….and may I add my wish for you:

Happy Christmas and Merry New Year!!!

I do an ornament exchange party each year and whatever I buy to put under the tree, I buy myself one too….AND I find out where all the other really cute ornaments that were bought and then go buy myself those too 😀  but really, it’s for the tree, the house and the family, so it’s not so selfish…;D

I bought myself some mittens while Christmas shopping for my husband.  They are cute though and I really like them.  Plus, they were on sale.

It’s your fault I got obsessed with bokeh. After your post last Sunday, I had to learn. Thank you.

I got my 50 lens last year.  It was required for a photo class that I was taking.  I had no idea at the time that I’d love it so much.  You did a lovely job on your bokeh. :0)  Healing prayers for your little one because I don’t think anyone can stop Christmas from coming – haven’t you seen the TV shows about that?  No one can stop Christmas! lol
