If, if, if…if my aunt had balls she’d be my uncle. And she’d be welcome to live with me in San Francisco.
Yesterday, on my way to meet a friend, I got a call informing me that my credit card had been used fraudulently. Fortunately, it was caught early and damage to myself and my credit is minimal. A red flag went up when someone tried to purchase $48 worth of food at McDonald’s. My C.C. company thought that was an irregular purchase for me. How sweet is it they knew I would never buy so much fast food.? It’s just not my style. They know me better than my extended family.
Actually it was pretty freaky how much the credit card people knew about me. I didn’t have the card on me when I called so they had to find another way of verifying my identity. Holy cow! They knew things about me I didn’t remember. I said, “Geeze, how long have I had this card?” and the woman told me that although I hadn’t had the card long the information was from public records. Scary.
I won a giveaway!!! I don’t enter very many giveaways because my life is full of stuff and I just don’t need more, but Sarah at Life {Sweet} Life was giving away some pretty cool stuff. What I really wanted to win are these great name blocks that she makes. I had been coveting them for awhile and had even mentioned to my husband (prior to the giveaway) that I wanted some for Put Pie’s room. I acted like I might even make them myself, but who was I kidding, I would never have gotten around to it. Now I don’t have too!
I’ve been feeling jealous. Not in my marriage, but because of other people’s good fortune. I do not like feeling jealous of others because I know that their success in no way shape or form takes anything from me. I know that the Universe is abundant and that there is plenty to go around. So why do I still feel jealous even while I am happy for them? I am jealous because I know that I need to get my butt in gear and go after what I want too. This is just a wake up call.
Our 2 year wedding anniversary is this coming week. We have been together for over 8 years. When we first “got together” we spent an inordinate amount of time together and every once in a while we’d look at each other and ask, “Are you sick of me yet?” We have yet to get sick of each other and I hope we never do. For those of you who do not know my husband, he is pretty awesome. He is:
- sexy as all hell
- great in bed
- interesting
- interested
- a great father
- stubborn
- grouchy
- forgetful
- someone I truly admire
- here to teach me something
- not as funny as I am
- my biggest supporter
- a blanket hog
- someone you would be lucky to know
As you can probably tell, I’ve been using the new post editor in Blogger. Does anyone know what happened to the spell check?
Have a great weekend!

But seriously, glad it wasn’t much much worse.Congrats on winning a giveaway! And Happy Anniversary! And
don’t feel bad about being jealous for other people’s good fortune – we
all feel that way from time to time – but at least we recognize we do
it, and can work on it. 🙂

Somebody once used my credit card for internet gambling. I was
fortunate that it was stopped … I was less fortunate when I had to
explain my other recent purchases … There is nothing more embarrassing
than a woman on the phone saying ‘Ms Eternally Distracted, did you
purchase 100 pounds worth of items from xxx adult store?’ … ;0)

I had a card that I used so infrequently that they called every single
time I used it (which was usually for several purchases right in a row
and then it went away again for months at a time). I always had to say
“Yah, that spending spree was mine…” When I wished I could’ve said
“NO! Who is spending all of my money?! It can’t possibly be me!!!”I
didn’t even know blogger had a new post editor. I always write my
posts somewhere else and copy and paste since I don’t like bloggers
thingum. Maybe I’ll have to look at it!

Happy early Anniversary! Scott and I wll be engaged 5 years this
Christmas, so we’ve been together nearly 6 years total. It’s nice to
know we are not the only people who are together for, like, 6 years
before finally getting married. hahaCongrats on winning the giveaway. I have never won a giveaways myself, but I have only entered like 4.Jealousy
is normal, and I think everyone experiences jealousy. I think it’s what
we do with that emotion that matters. We can become bitter and
negative, or use it to motivate us. Ya know?Happy FF!

Happy early Anniversary!I once applied a job at a credit card
company right out of college. They told me all about this top secret
floor they had, where the all the employees did all day was use the
internet to chase people down all over the world who had fraudulantly
opened cards. The details were fascinating, but a little frightening
too!I like the new post editor too. Adds some creativity and fun to our posts.

Loved all the “fragments” in your post, and I’m glad the credit card
issue didn’t cause a big problem…but what about the spellcheck thing,
where did it go? I’m sure the above suggestions are great if I had a
clue what they mean. If I knew what those things mean, I’d probably know
how to form a group to demand spellcheck back, or how to ask the
blogger gods about it or something. I want it back.

Spell check in blogger seems to work only if you are in the edit HTML
side of the blog and not on Compose. I reply far too heavily on spell
check, so I was going to revert back to the old version if I coudn’t
figure out how to spell check. Those blocks that you won are
adorable! Congrats 🙂 It’s always nice to win something that you
actually want. I avoid giveaways like the plague because I normally
just can’t handle having another thing come into my home. I think your husband is fortunate to have met someone who loves his qualities 🙂 Kristin – The Goat

Huh. There’s a new editor? And the credit card stuff? There’s
actually a pretty cool company that compiles publicly available
information called VerID (I think) that a lot of the card companies use
to verify you (when applying and when something like this happens).
It’s amazing what they can put together, but ummmm not always good when
the questions ask you about things like ohhh your current husband’s
ex-wife’s birthdate. I’ve heard a few stories about that!
