Before I had kids if you would have told me that I would willingly go to see any production of “Disney on Ice,” I would have laughed hysterically at the idea of it—then I had kids and the last laugh is on me. Parenthood changes you. It makes you do things for your children you would have thought unthinkable before they existed. That’s why when we were offered press tickets to see “Frozen on Ice” at the Oracle Arena in Oakland I HAD to say yes because my youngest daughter loves her some “Frozen” and who am I to stand in the way of an experience that will thrill her?

So we went and honestly we all had a great time. No, I wouldn’t go if I didn’t have kids, but with the kids it was an awesome experience because they find it mesmerizing, sing a long at the top of their lungs and give me an excuse to eat junk food like it’s going out of style. The only thing I did not like about the experience is that parking at the Oracle Arena was $40. $40!!! That’s so not right. We paid it, but COME ON!!! Shame on whoever is responsible for the parking prices.

My youngest is a nut for Disney stuff and princess regalia in general…I AM NOT and yet, she makes me appreciate things that I would otherwise have no interest in because I see it through her eyes and joy is joy.

We took our kids to see Disney on Ice one year, just for the experience and they loved it! I enjoyed it but like you, paying the prices for extras like parking, food and programs was unbelievable, even back in the 70’s. Both girls took their children to see the ice shows it at the appropriate age as well. It’s like a right of passage in a way.

I haven’t seen Frozen either. Seems appropriate that they did it on ice.

this is amazing. our children’s generation are all into Elsa and Anna, the Frozen saga. It’s an experience that she will cherish forever. Maybe the parking lot is paved in gold for that ridiculous price they charge people.

We have one very frozen granddaughter. (just think that sentence would not have made any sense years ago or in the future) She was so good at teaching me the names of all the characters.
