I Comment Therefore I Am

Welcome to another edition of I Comment Therefore I Am, where I put together a post from comments I’ve left on other blogs. Below are some of my favorite posts from the previous week and what they inspired me to say.

It appears that Amanda at Martinis or Diaper Genies is a “cursist”! That’s right, she discriminates against some curse words, but not others. Part of this discrimination stems from her worry that babies might be reading her blog. I couldn’t help but leave the following comment…

Hi, I am a baby and I read your blog religiously. I don’t usually comment because my Mami has to do the typing for me and she is a whore, I mean bore. Sorry Mami. Anyway, I don’t mind the cursing, it reminds me of what my Mami sounded like when she was in labor. I would like it if you use, “Mother Sucker” instead of MF ’cause I’m down with mother suckers. You down with OPP?

Green-eyed Momster asked if I was self-employed, to which I answered…

Technically, I am self-employed. I’m considered a contractor, which means I’m my own boss. My boss is a bitch and I can never get away from her.

Mrs. Blogalot pointed out the “every asshole is somebody’s child”, which made me say…

I feel all warm and fuzzy inside because I know I’m someone’s asshole.

I read a great post at Una Mamá Con Hijas where the author was accused of not being Latina…ugh!…If you get a chance please read this post. Don’t worry it’s in English.

Wonderful post, it made my skin crawl to read what that woman said to you. She was most definitely being racist and ignorant.

You are a Latina, you are not a stereotype!

I can really identify with this post. I am bi-cultural as well. Because of the way I look and sound people that do not know me well assume I am all kinds of things other than Latina. It always makes me uncomfortable to have to explain myself because in reality yes I am “Americana” (even though I can go on and on about how all residents of the Americas are Americanos, not just the ones that live in the U.S.), but I am so much more than that. I do not fit comfortably into one category and that is my strength not my weakness.

I wanted to end this post by sharing some of the hilarious comments left on my Blog is a Four Letter Word post, but there were too many so if you feel like having a chuckle give it a click and go blog yourselves, you motherbloggers.

That’s it for this edition of I Comment Therefore I Am.

Do you give good comment? Wanna play along? Go forth, spread the comment love, and turn it into a post (I keep a draft post open while I read blogs throughout the week).  Recycle, reuse, and reduce my friends; it’s the wave of the future.

Oh and feel free to comment on my comments otherwise how will I know that you exist.

If you play along please link back and/or post the button below. Spread the love, spread the love!
