Janet Cruz Bisonó of Latina Money recently posted this bit of advice:
And woman, oh woman, did that ever resonate with me, which is why I left this comment:
I freakin’ love this. I treat money like an unwelcome guest and no wonder it doesn’t want to hang out. Thank you for this. I’m gonna get my flirt on. Voy a ser super coqueta.
So, it’s one thing for me to say that Imma get all flirty with money, but it’s a totally different thing to put that flirt into action after years of being terrified of anything having to do with money. But tomorrow, my loves, money and I are gonna get it on.

I’m doing my taxes date-style!
I tend to wait until the last possible moment to do my taxes and this year, that moment is tomorrow because my husband is leaving the country soon thereafter and I might need to ask him a question or two as we file jointly. To be clear, even though we file jointly, I am the one who prepares the taxes and I prefer to do it alone.
I have always dreaded doing my taxes until now. But not anymore because I’m going on a date with my money tomorrow! Tomorrow, my husband and children are leaving to do something else and I will be doing my taxes. But I’m not gonna do them like I’ve always done them, lookin’ all schlumpy and dreadful. Nope! I’m gonna get my flirt on and dress the part!
How?
I’m dressing up as if I were going on a date with a hottie that I’m super attracted to because money is super attractive and I TOTALLY WANT IT. I’m wearing something that makes me feel fabulous, I’m putting on the makeup and the killer shoes and then I’m going to do my taxes the way they deserve to be done: As a celebration of all the money that has come into my life in the past year.
Money and I are gonna get all hot, heavy and steamy with each other and it’s gonna be GOOD. 🎶Bow chicka bow wow … 🎶
As Selena would say, “Me siento muy excited!”
I love dressing up and I love flirting. Just thinking about how I’m going to get all dressed up and have a flirty attitude as I do my taxes is actually making me look forward to an event I’ve always dreaded.
This is a big turning point for me in my relationship with money. A big thank you to Janet Cruz Bisonó for helping me see money in a different way.
Oh, and don’t be jelly of my newfound love relationship with money. There’s enough money to go around, you can date money too.
