I’m Screwed!!!

I lost my job!

For the last 18 months I’ve been blessed with a stay at home job. I was hired as an independent contractor. My initial contract was for 3 months, but it kept getting renewed-until now. Today, I found out that it is not getting renewed and I am beyond bummed. I’m scared. I’m worried. I don’t know how I’m going to help provide for my family. I knew this job wasn’t forever, but I just didn’t expect it to end right at this moment. I am totally unprepared.

Please send me some positive thoughts. I could use all the help I can get right now.

    Hi,

I've always been told that when one door closes many new ones open. So far, it always been true for me. Dont waste your creative energy being scared. Something better will turn up. Also dont worry about the reader, my RSS feeds are not working. I've contacted Google and they are of no help. Its been hard maintaining a certain readership without the feeds but its not the end of the world. Positive thoughts going your way: repeat after me: I'm beautiful, smart, talented, young and very capable. I trust life will send the perfect job my way. Repeat as many times as required.
    Take care,

    Anne-Marie

nothing funny in that post of yours and you can be so funny. Was that the listening to Spanish ads for the right accent gig? I'm at a totally different place in life but I recently did some contracting and while doing it figured it was not going to last. I was surprised when they extended the term because I thought it would not last. It's been over for some time now.

How did you find this job? Are there others like it out there? If you start putting the word out there to everyone you know and let everyone know what type of job you want maybe someone will hear of something. Sometimes the shock of hearing you are being let go fills up your head to the point that you can't see new possibilities or have the energy and attitude to find a new job. I hope you know you are so talented. It will be interesting to hear of the new things coming your way.

I'll also send you a virtual martini, if you are drinking? I have experienced something similar, and though you didn't ask for advice, I will give it. Take a deep breath and try not to panic. I panicked. I f'ing freaked out. It didn't help matters. Just do what you can when you can and it will be fine. And listen to some Nikka Costa…always helps. you can always email me to vent….I will listen and send more martninis.
P.S. Met some awesome Mexican American folks from AZ on vacay. We vented about all those damn laws they have been passing.
