LISTEN: Juan Gabriel & Juanes Singing ‘Querida’ is something you want in your ears!

Juan Gabriel and Juanes
The Mexican master of song and mega-icon, Juan Gabriel, is releasing an album called “Los Dúo” on February 10. I adore JuanGa, ADORE him! He’s part of the soundtrack of my youth and his voice is as familiar to me as if we were related.

Now, it’s hard for me to pick a favorite Juan Gabriel song because I love them all, but “Querida” is dear to my heart. Don’t laugh at me or do I don’t care, but if I really let myself listen to that song it brings me to tears, like sobbing moco-dripping ugly kind of crying tears. I feel the emotion of that song in my heart, I feel it in my soul, I FEEL IT!

Well, as a sort of teaser before the release of the album, Juan Gabriel and Juanes (yes, Juanes, the Colombian musical sensation that even abuelas go crazy for) have put out a video of them singing “Querida” together and what can I say, se me enchina el cuero … I get goose bumps. The original first came out in 1984. This newer version manages to feel and sound fresh while still staying true to the classic.

Check it out! So freakin’ beautiful!

Omg! Thanks for sharing, I had no idea! And yes, I know exactly what you mean. Love that adding. It brings me back to summers at grandma house! She had a Cassette of Juan Gabriel and wet had to set at that song and desperatly waited as We rewond it to play it again! Singing, dancing and playing dress up with grandma scarves (me and my sister that is)! Thank you so much for bringing back these memories!
